Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)

Eleco consistently applied the principles of modern methods of construction prior to 1997 when Sir John Egan highlighted the benefits to be gained from the application of MMC to the build process. MMC is now increasingly regarded as a key aid to improving quality, reducing time spent on site, improving on-site safety and overcoming skills shortages.

Improved Project Management and Execution

Construction companies and their clients are increasingly turning to software in pursuit of greater efficiency. Eleco anticipated this demand and began investing in software technology in 2000. The Eleco software division now has a suite of software tools to manage each stage of the construction project lifecycle from project visualisation, through design, cost estimation and project management to site management.

Sustainable Construction

“Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. Eleco recognises that sustainability is about environmental performance of the product throughout its lifespan. Eleco is focused on achieving materials efficiency, faster construction times and efficient resource management.

The Board Directors of Eleco plc regard safety as an extremely important priority for the company and are committed to achieving and maintaining the standards of Health and Safety referred to below. This applies for all employees, contractors and members of the public who may be affected by the activities of the company. Eleco plc will endeavour to ensure that all operations and activities are undertaken in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation and relevant codes of practice.

To achieve these aims Eleco plc will:-

• Prepare, communicate and regularly review and revise as necessary the Health and Safety Policy and Procedures for their businesses.
• Ensure sufficient and suitable resources are allocated to enable the policies to be implemented.
• Ensure that employees receive training in order to competently carry out their duties as commensurate with their post.
• Ensure that management systems provide for effective monitoring and reporting of health, safety and environmental performance.
• Prepare and implement aims & objectives with measurable improvement targets.

The Directors recognise that such policy and measures are advantageous to employees and the company by minimising the likelihood of injury or ill health to people, controlling loss, damage, wastage, avoiding disruption of the production process and safeguarding the environment.

To achieve the above aims and to uphold compliance with legislation through the implementation of policy and procedures, Eleco plc employs the services of a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner.
